1. Wheel mark
Forged wheels are generally printed with the word “FORGED” , but it is not ruled out that some casting wheels are printed with the same words to make it fake. You must polish your eyes.
2. Style type
Two-piece and three-piece forged wheels are generally combined by rivets or welding (argon welding). Generally, the color of the rim and the spokes is obviously different, which can be easily seen.
The casting wheels are formed at one time and have no color difference. (This method is not necessarily applicable to all, cause forged wheels also have a one-piece type)
3. Details on the back of the wheel
The front and back of the forged wheel are the same bright and smooth, with a good metallic luster, while the front of the cast wheel may be very bright, but the back is dark, with obvious demoulding marks or burrs (However, it is not ruled out that counterfeiters are polishing the surface Processing). The sand holes or small holes can be seen from the back of some poor workmanship casting wheels. (but they can’t be seen after painting or processing on the back). Forged wheels are generally flat on the back while casting wheels have die stamps.
4. Engraving information
For information about the wheel hub (PCD, center hole, ET, etc.), forged wheels are generally put them in the inner wall of the rim (most common) or mounting surface, and casting wheels are generally put them at the back of the spoke (most common), or the back of the rim or the mounting surface.
5. Wheel weight
The forged wheels are made by high-strength forging, and the weight of the forged wheels is lighter then a casting wheel under the same size and style.
6. Percussion echo
The percussion method is to knock the wheels with a small metal rod, the echo from the forged wheel is crisp and melodious, and the echo from the casting wheel is dull.
